Gopher Posts – Hack Club Scrapbook

Mapped out the architecture I'm going to build Hatchet in. ✨ It will use 4 different databases, postgres, scylladb, redis and opensearch. The clients will be written in TypeScript with React, expo + react-native for mobile, nextjs for the web and tauri for desktop. Backend will be written primarily in Rust and Golang with one microservice in Python. It will use Cloudflare R2 for file uploads, Signal Protocol for Encryption. Very excited about using Kafka (I have no idea how it works, but I guess its needed for this one).

I worked on making a basic package for hypridle, hyprlock, and grimblast for alpine linux since i'm planning to switch to it (soon) Finished the text editor tutorial. Now working on the project for the optimize ysws, I think i'll make a text editor, still choosing what framework/libraries to use. (right now in go but will probably change i'm really unsure)

Today I discovered you can call golang functions from js using WASM and pkg.go.dev/syscall/js which is pretty cool. I think I'm going to try to make some sort of interactive colourful making thingy with it! I also worked some more on the #C096T301L2G| thing and made some actually nice wallpapers I think, like this one which is supposed to be fire-y colours

yesterday I started working a little UI for gemini - written in golang + html with bulma for css

Today, I finished the sending functionality for individual files in my wrapper for github.com/schollz/croc. I faced a lot of issues with this due to lack of knowledge of the language, and had to consult some AI to figure out where my code was going wrong, but I studied the code and modified it to fit my requirements. This was written in GoLang, and used raw HTML/CSS/JS in the frontend. My Repo: github.com/CrazeXD/croc-desktop

Today, I completed the installation functionality for my desktop wrapper of "croc", a file-transfer utility. I wrote it in GoLang, like the original package but with the added Wails library to access HTML/CSS/JS bindings for the design. Currently, it only has the ability to install croc, but eventually I will integrate the rest of the functionality that croc provides into the app. You can look at the source code here: www.github.com/CrazeXD/croc-desktop

Today I got GoLang to work (FINALLY). I managed to link my school account to my gmail via github student dev pack, and linked that to jetbrains, etc etc. I'm going to design the specs of the project which I want to make, so stay tuned for that. Extremely annoyed by just this one bug that somehow gives back an empty string where it shouldn’t. Just this one thing that’s wrong with my program before I can #ship it. #go people, the getLocalClip function returns an empty string when the clipboard isn’t empty sometimes. If you know how to fix it, please enlighten me

I'm gonna try to get @scrappy to react with as many emojis as possible, for no particular reason. When we arrived in space, there were shouts of "yay!" and "hooray!" I wanted to sleep, but the sunset was much too captivating. As I struggled to paint a representation of the masterpiece, my art was cut short by a reminder of our predicament. Our ship's Linux core had been damaged by a rain storm. Upon further inspection, is appeared as though the Rust installation on our ship's robot had been corrupted. We debated which language to replace it with; "Golang!" Matt said. "Swift!" Linus shouted. "Deno!" "JavaScript!" We decided on rewriting the robot's code using minecraft redstone (that way we didn't have to use npm). 15 years later, once we finished, we pushed to the GitHub repository. But wait! The robot's hardware was also severely crippled. We had to 3d print some parts, after getting the models from Google.
