@n0o0b090lv7+6/365:
• book: color theory... honeslty i already knew it so i just threw some colors and moved on main course. so today i was at art shop and got myself some cool art supplies, wich inclued but are not limited to B2 pen, H6 pen (was intending on H3 [WHO PUT H6 IN H3 ;-;]), mecanical pencil AND CHARCOAL SET :DD (Holy shit i love it already, bit messy but worth it as black couldn't be more black, as well so fun to draw with as you can just let yourself go with the flow, HIGLY RECOMEND :DD)
• Time: bout hour and half
• Yap: As i said it was color theory in the book.. BUT IT'S BOORING so i decided to have fun with pencils that i just got, and IT WAS AWESOM
, and drew some random things to test em out and at the end my big days work (i think it looks cool AF
[if you don't take the perspective as i simply can't it's too hard ;-;]), so yeah was sick to draw with charcoal FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE :))
@Aishaani0JAMS Dev Drafts is a crazy idea I've had for a while: a site you where can make pixel art AND music tracks. It's supposed to be a good tool for game developers (although it can be multi purpose and used by anyone, because I'm not planning on restricting anything). So, this is what the start of JAMS Dev Drafts looks like:
@magicfrog0drew two pigeons with illustrator! experimenting with another art style bc i made this by literally just blocking out shapes. it was pretty fun though
reference was a photo i took of some pigeons in sf during undercity
@magicfrog0i finally got my #C088UF12N1Z| steam grant!!!!!! i submitted it to steamworks today and going to be waiting for payment to go through
also i dont think i ever shipped my juice game so SIGNAL LOST!! (made in march.......)
spent 106 hours on it! and its basically a 2d space platformer made in Godot where you are an astronaut trying to find the spaceship parts so you can rebuild it and return home. there are 4 levels, alien sky forest, cave, and city. you get around with WASD to walk around and jump and arrow keys to change the direction of gravity!! and avoid plants. also you can talk to aliens!! using E to toggle and space to lock in answer. also, you have an oxygen bar and your oxygen goes down as time passes. there are oxygen bubbles around that you need to collect or else you will die.
i drew all the art in aseprite ;)
hopefully y'all will be seeing this game on STEAM soon ‼️

@hex40I've added theming to Modulo! If you recall at the very start, I made an update about figuring out how to change the Tailwind theme on-the-fly. This is why! I used a color picker library called svelte-awesome-color-picker, and hooked its onInput event to a function that updates the theme's CSS variable.
@lachlanjc0Presenting the Lachlan Idea Generator: an analog portfolio turned idea generator where you have 3 wheels to spin, for tone, subject, & medium. I've seemingly made half the combinations as art projects & the other half sound plausible coming from me. It makes fun of how systematic, practical, & non-personally-attached my art is by reducing my projects to these core keywords, & re-systemizing them into this lime green contraption. I designed, 3D-printed, and spray-painted the shell@mathias0It's a pixel art of Commander Video from Super Meat Boy. I've made a small Python port of Replicube. A game about completing shaders puzzle in Lua. Go check it out! store.steampowered.com/app/3401490/Replicube
@nullptr0worked on improving the background gradient transitions in VERT today. the first tab showcases before and the second tab showcases after. it now works using tweening from JS for the gradient position, and mask-image instead of linear-gradient so the color transitioning can be handled from CSS@Lukas-U08AT086H8E0From today on i will be posting more scrapbook posts!
## today:
• Learned how to make really cool art with PCB's its really cool

Mainly juice today, worked on making a banana thing that if the player hits it they get more speed and jump force, also made pixel art hearts. made the pixel art banana.@<anniemated>0finished all my sprites/art for my hackapet game. pixel art is really fun and i'm glad this was my first time trying it!!
@PianoMan00Worked on Juice art! Added some art for a walking animation.
@PianoMan00Today I added new events to Historical Events Near You, planned out a report inaccuracies feature, and worked on Juice art!
@sam0a different type of yap today:
i like to jot and sketch random stuff down while doing things. i use to do it with paper, but it gets so messy and is kinda a waste... i got one of those cheap plastic/cardboard whiteboards from the dollar store, but those came pre scratched
and just would not erase cleanly. the glass whiteboards at unis are sooo nice, but a smaller one is like 30 bucks on amazon
figured this was a good and short weekend project! a glass whiteboard really just is glass + white paint
i wanted a glass whiteboard at least larger than letter paper. glass panels were shockingly expensive and difficult to buy, and I'm not paying $10+ for just one piece of ultra-thin glass. picture frames were the next thing i tried to look for, but all the modern ones use that cheap, thin plastic film instead of glass. at a second-hand store, i found a picture frame with not one, but two 14"x11", 1/8" thick (which is pretty good) sheets for under $3 total. i figured i'd mess up the first one accidently. also bought some sand paper and white spray paint (less than $12 total)
i cleaned the glass with soap + water and then alcohol. taped up the edges and went ham with the sandpaper on the glass for better paint adhesion later. i have zero clue how to spray paint, so I applied wayy too much paint on the first try. it got sticky and i had to sand it off to be more even and fixed it with a couple more light coats and a lot of waiting in between. i did a light sanding after it dried and i had a glass whiteboard
dry erase markers erase so nicely on glass
it was so worth it. costed in total less than $15, and i can make a second one, with spare paint and sand paper for other things
@Aram0🚢 BOIDS! 🚢
Have you ever looked at birds in the sky and wondered... I wonder what the mathematical calculations for there movement were? You probably haven't but if you have, that's a real thing!
It's called Boids. It's based on 3 rules (separation, cohesion, alignment) and can make some movements that look like schools of fish 🐟 or bird 🐦 movement, it can even make really satisfying timelapses!
So over the last week-ish I decided to make a pygame script to simulate these Boids and create a program to see these mesmerizing patterns thats a mix between art and music!
You can check out the code (and compile it yourself to run) here (give it a star maybe :p) , if you want to read more about boids, the wikipedia page is pretty good and there are a bunch of articles about it.
I'll try to host a 24/7 <https://youtube.com/live/xwIw1qobiUw?feature=share|stream> for as long as possible if anyone wants to see it in action!
@pbthecoder0Drew a couple of things for my game, including a whole lot of food (kfc anyone)
Programmed outside, debugged small issues today
Programmed the start of Flowers room where most of the actual games are
free art photos below and free result photos
@pbthecoder0In addition to my previous two screens for my hackapet, I also finished the Box room and updated the TV room with new art. I also added a mouse sensing and fixed text writing. Fixed bug where you can change TV without interacting with it.
@Anson0I've almost never talked about it to anyone: Before Anson Chung become Anson Chung, he was known by many different names by many different people.
Most notably, he was known as a UX/Interaction Designer at GolfRush, an unreleased Roblox game. He spends 3 years mastering the art of UI animations from the ground up. He spend most of his days crafting UIs, and from time to time, he thinks to himself: is it worth the time?
Ultimately GolfRush stopped it's development, and his three years of work will never be seen by the people.
But that is the reason hes here today.
@PotentialStyx0Added some "art" to my github contribution graph using my WIP text/image -> github contribution graph program
@sam0I learned OpenSCAD today. I love parametric stuff and the magic that changing one variable does. (blot art is so cool in the same way)
I'm starting to use gridfinity but I wanted to cut down on the number of magnets I used cus $$, so I modified Gridfinity Extended OpenSCAD to add a center hole. I now can use 2 magnets instead of 8, and it's more than strong enough
@anne0worked on blot art and almost ripped out all of my hair making it look decent and fixed up my own (and other people's) figma designs for logos for #C07V5401VMY|
@Bolb20190This is the start of a game I'm making with Godot, I started development of this game at the recent counterspell Boston. This is the first game i have ever made outside of scratch lol so the hour count will be a little larger than it should seem for the project, please be understanding and no hate. (idk if there is a lot of hate about that kinda thing). anyways, I have a camera that works flawlessly with a weird feature that allows you to see both players at once with 2 scenes on half opacity, kind neat. also drew up some new art to better fit the style.
@mart0Day Three of making a Cute Pixel-Art Pomodoro Timer Browser Extension -- coding time: ~2 hoursFor day one and two, see my discord server here:discord.com/channels/1178803368806842408/1310350396396666910But since you can earn doubloons now, I gotta post them here too!
I made a shit ton of progress today. The first video is how it looked before today, the second video and the second picture how it looks now.
This is what I added (among other things:)
• A cute pixel art font and nice colors
• A selector for different timers (pomodoro, short and long break)
• Made the timer reset to its original time after it finished
• Disabled the selector when a timer is running already. You can click "pause" and then you're able to start a new timer.
@ArunGeorgeSaji0Was working on high seas jam but then I remember I am pretty bad at art so decided to go with the easy route would have been much faster if I did that immediately instead of figuring out how to compensate for my skill and all.Please don't cancel me in the replies thanks.Day 2 update for the thanksgiving
@kirolosgerges0today i shipped pixel art studio
it has alot of feautres :

@Siwen0Continued work on the 4 port usb, routed all the connections up. I've decided to put a large hole at the top left for a keychain and multiple smaller holes for a mounting a 3d printed case I'll be designing later. I'm debating on if I should expose some of the pcb so I can put Silk screen art on it or lasercut a piece of plexiglass for the case. I also want to get everything on a breadboard so I can test if it actually works. I found out you can get breakout components for smd components and usb ports so I'm definitely going to buy some.
@louisa0today i:
made lots of pomodoro site progress (i intend to change the logo thingy soon, as well as add an actual bg for now those are just gonna be a placeholders, ill also add more sections on the right soon) :) + did some minor tweaks on the plane hackathon proposal w the help of @/Pixelglide (he added a new section!! :)) )! + continued experimenting w pixel art and trying to get the hang of it
@louisa0lol i lost my streak (fr this time) last night for some reason but ngl im not too bothered by that :) ive been thinking alot about what i wanna do with what i code bc alot of what ive been workinf on doesnt rlly have much of a purpose (im sorry rizzlergpt), its just code that does stuff. so my goal with high seas is to make projects that can be useful for other people while also learning new things. anyways enough of me yapping (on scrapbook of all places
)
today:
i started off with working on a pomodoro timer (this is gonna be my first complete react project lol). i wanna have features that can make it better for programmers :) so i think im gonna work and complete this for the next 2 weeks and see how it goes :) i also started working on a list of other stuff id wanna make that have the same kinda goal. i also started learning some pixel art since for my pomodoro timer i wanna add some orpheus art there
@Vuk0Created custom wall mount for my skis, since all of the ones I could find didn't display the art on the top sheet.
Available on thingiverse: www.thingiverse.com/thing:6811562
@magicfrog0possibly the strangest art project i've made! i have an weird obsession with the orange trident gum flavour and i was just goofing around one day with the packaging when i got the most random idea ever.
✨ the gum room ✨ (
), a goofy mini room with a bed, table, closet and other stuff made with a very interesting materials... gum boxes, gum wrappers, and gum ofc (most of it soft-ifyed in a bowl of water with chopsticks ok).
i hope you enjoy, i guess?
(also since the slack image limit is 10, im adding one more in the thread of the very beginning)
@msw0My last update for #C07NUNPGEU8| – I just added a lighthouse & tree to my partially completed piece from a couple days ago! with that, now all 3 pieces are finished. I've got a lora trained that can give me more concept art then I could ever want & i'm feeling more confident about learning new styles myself.
@msw0Update 3: I've trained a LORA over the weekend to help me come up with more reference art and help inspire me as I work on scenes. Here you can see a picture I drew in figma yesterday and today (still missing a subject, but I've got the far clouds and the close shore created) and an XY plot of some different art generation settings I was playing with, and the comfyui node configuration I used to generate the reference pics!
@TheTridentGuy0Worked on my hackpad, and made this art for it:
