Day 2/10: Worked on getting skyfall.dev into 512KB Club and 1MB Club (which involved setting up git-send-email

)! Ended up just removing Sentry to do it (Astro is pretty damn efficient :p) and the homepage is now at 429KB :) Also added the HC webring switcher + 512KB Club badge + footer on all pages

Meow, mrrow, mrow Do you get parcels from a random place called hack club and want to see what's on the way and its status? eh, maybe not. But I do, and I don't like going to the shipment viewer because it's outside slack, i need to put in my email, get a link, annoying on mobile, ugghhh. (joking, it's a great site :) ) But what if you didn't have to do that? What if... it was in Slack. Introducing @PostPuppy ! Visit the app home to see all your packages just like you would on the shipment viewer. you can even opt to get notified when the status changes. oh, and if the email you use for slack is the same that you get mail to, it'll auto sign you in! (If you use a different email, you can open settings, enter an email and get a verification link sent to you)

Yesterday I helped run the computer science table at our school district's middle school academy fair! talking hundreds of middle schoolers was very taxing, but it actually went great, we had a crowd around our table the entire time! I obviously advertised Hack Club a ton even though I was low on posters & flyers-- people loved the Sprig, the LED matrix (upcoming ysws 👀), the stickers, and most of all, the game! I projected my #C07MUFXNG82| pinball game onto the ceiling to draw people over & gave candy to people who could score 1000! I wanted to buy a gong with school budget that we could hit every time someone beat the high score, but even though it (shockingly) got approved it didn't arrive in time. Definitely gonna recreate this setup in the future!

Hey yaal! Did lots of work today 🙂 Lots of choir work for the concert, bioing for the bio final + a bit of math For hc work I did boba drops bts (airtable stuff) and announced that cascade is ending early 😞 + I worked with @/jps for updating the toolbox, check it out (lots of new stuff) toolbox.hackclub.com. Today I worked on my django web app. It's an app I'm coding (hacking together :D) for my dancing club in order to make the evaluation and result collection for physical tests easier. hiii 1 more launch! this one's the kicker, and I don't see any reason I can't share it with you guys! this summer, I built BioRSP (Biological Radar Scanning Plots)—an open-source tool that took a huge amount of time, effort, and dedication LOL I barely got sleep working BioRSP is designed to enhance the analysis of single-cell gene expression patterns by simulating radar-like scanning across cell clusters. It’s a major step forward in bioinformatics, particularly for those of us focused on spatial transcriptomics and understanding cellular heterogeneity. What does that mean? Imagine trying to figure out what’s going on at a massive concert. You can hear some people singing loudly, others talking quietly, and some areas where it’s just silent. But if you were up in the sky with a radar, you could scan the crowd from different angles and figure out exactly where the loudest singers are, where groups of people are talking, and where it’s completely quiet. In a similar way, BioRSP helps scientists "scan" groups of cells to find out which ones are "singing" (expressing genes) the loudest, which ones are "whispering," and which ones are silent. This tool is super important for discovering new insights about how cells work together in tissues, like in our hearts or brains. Basically, I wanted it to be a completely new way to visualize and analyze spatial gene expression patterns. Currently, prelim results show that it outperforms traditional methods, like Polar Gini Curves, in detecting subtle and significant spatial patterns. I've also successfully used in a case study involving neonatal mouse heart tissue

This morning I felt bad about skimping out on low skies & having a weak GitHub graph, so I made the plan to make a project every day for the next week. This evening, I realized that this is possibly the worst week I could have picked in at least the surrounding 3 months. I still managed to make some good progress on a fun little idea, so here it is: I was inspired by Club Fair Attention Monopoly to make Fortune Phone (better name pending): A little website for club fairs, where when you text the phone number on screen, the last four digits of your phone number appear along with an ominous fortune generated by AI. So far, I've written pretty much all of the UI, but I've been staring at the screen so long I can't tell if it looks good or not. Don't worry, leeks flagged through the bot are anonymous but logged the user ID of the first person to flag for moderation purposes. Simply react with

Just competed in my first Hack Club affiliated hackathon in Flagstaff, Arizona! The hackathon was divided into middle and high school (I'm in 8th). My team got first place in Middle School.
